Hot Rolled Steel S275JR

What is Hot Rolled Steel?

Hot Rolled Steel, as its name suggests, is steel which has been rolled at a high temperature of above 1000°C.  The steel starts off as steel billets or slabs and is then rolled continuously through a mill to form a sheet or profile before being cooled at room temperature.

What are the Advantages of Hot Rolled Steel?

Hot Rolled Steel is a tough and malleable metal which is easier to bend into shape than some other forms of steel.  It is also more economical to produce and therefore usually cheaper than Cold Rolled Steel.
Despite its positive qualities, Hot Rolled Steel does tend to shrink slightly as it cools and is generally of a lower quality than Cold Rolled Steel with an uneven surface.
Our Hot Rolled Steel Sheets are available in the thicknesses and sheet sizes in the table below with no minimum quantity.
